Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809, to Thomas lincoln and Nancy hanks , two farmers, in southeast Hardin Country Kentucky.In 1816, the Lincoln family left Kentucky to avoid the expense of fighting for one of their properties in court, and made a new start in Indiana.
